Kailee Young is a traditional illustrator and developing ceramicist focusing on sculpture and functional pottery. Having grown up in St. Cloud Minnesota, she experienced the state’s humbling natural environment while camping and fishing during her childhood. Throughout her growth as a traditional illustrator and ceramicist, she utilizes textures and symbols inspired by Minnesota’s coniferous and tallgrass biomes. 

After graduating from Apollo Senior High School, Kailee enrolled at The College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University to pursue her interests in Art and Psychology. Her work has been shown in class exhibitions, including the 2020 Forging a Presence Senior Thesis exhibition. Combining her education in ceramics and psychology, Kailee creates ceramic can sculptures to illustrate accumulation and disease within the human body associated with alcoholism in her senior thesis work.
